The aim of the Networking Conference:
- To showcase the range of environmental opportunities available in order to increase access by ethnic minority communities
- To showcase innovative Ethnic Minority Projects, integrating social, cultural, economic and environmental themes, in order to share ideas and inspire action
- To facilitate networking for mutual support

The Wildlife Trusts - Living Landscapes Project - engaging with wildlife in urban and rural settings
Transition Towns Initiative - range of projects driven by local people, engaging with social, cultural, economic and environmental aspects in the built and natural environment
National Trust - Whose Story Project, addressing issues of cultural identity, ownership across natural and built heritage sites
Invisible Food Project and Rainbow Training Programme - Ceri Buck and Segen Ghebrekidan - sharing the Invisible Food Project and talking about her experience with the BEN Rainbow Training Programme and what she has got out of it for the future
Sports Council Walkleader Programme and Working with Ethnic Minorities in the Countryside - Philippa Owen BEN Development Worker talks about her pioneering work in North Wales running a Sports Council Walkleader Programme for the Chinese, and engaging with new ethnic groups such as the Polish in a rural and semi-rural setting.

Living Streets - what we can do to make our streets come to life for us and become the vibrant linking areas that our neighbourhoods the community setting that we want
BEN Bike Recycling Project - Amina Ali and Anthony Nicholls, BEN Development Workers share a project that refurbishes bikes, teaches local people the skills to maintain bikes, and by providing free transport opens up a different range of opportunities in the local area and further afield.
Forestry Commission - Wonderful woodlands on the urban fringe and further afield offers energetic outdoor activities, quiet recreation, environmental education including Forest School.
BTCV - the largest environmental volunteering organisation in Europe, supports practical projects in urban and rural settings, responding to the wishes and needs of the people they involve.
The Onion Shed and the Rainbow Training Programme - Ann Bodkin talks about The Onion Shed, a new local project focusing on food growing, and the impact of her experience of the Rainbow Training Programme
Chinese Healthy Living Project - programme of healthy walks and a project creating a sense of belonging through exploring hidden Chinese history within their own city

The AGM will take place on 14th April 2010 at 3.30pm at The Oasis Centre, 75 Westminster Bridge Road, London SE1 7HS

If you want a speeded up booking, email us your form. On receipt of your email we will confirm a reserved place by email but we still need your signed form in the post.

There is a small fund for this. This fund is available only to the staff and members of small community based groups and to individuals having difficulty meeting the costs. Please only apply for absolutely what you need so others can also have this privilege. We suggest that you research the cost and then apply. The amount needs to be pre-agreed.
